Summer Dance + Art Camp

The Cypher Spot will host a 4 week Summer Dance & Arts Camp designed to provide high-quality, culturally rooted dance education, creative visual arts training, faith-based encouragement, and a supportive community environment for youth ages 6–12.

With Junior Leader options with our teenage students.

The camp combines dance foundations, choreography, freestyle development, visual arts, Bible-centered identity lessons, field trips, and weekly video shoot projects. The overarching theme — Be The Moon — teaches students to reflect the light of Christ in their movement, creativity, and leadership. We will bring in Specialized dance teachers each week for world-class training, performance opportunity with the 10-Year Anniversary event, field-trips, and some STEAM activities (Graffiti Art, Painting, Egg Drop, and others).

Camp Days are Monday - Friday, 8am-3pm.

Extended time, single day, and half day week options are available.

Thursday is the field trip day and single day and half-day options are not available for these days

PROGRAM GOALS

 Artistic Development

• Teach foundational movements in 8 core street dance styles

• Provide opportunities for choreography creation and freestyle

CAMP STRUCTURE

Monday - Wednesday

• Each week covers two dance styles, allowing students to experience a wide range of culturally rooted techniques:

• Each week covers different visual art styles (Graffiti, STEM, Clothing, Murals)

Thursday:

• Field trip day (Park Picnics, Splash Pads, Hikes, & John's Incredible Pizza)

Friday:

• Video Shoots, Trends, and Cultural Movies (Rize, Step Up, Battle of the Year, Beat Street)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Registration is non-refundable (Current TCS Students do not need a registration fee)

• Registration is first come first served

• Campers must bring their own non-perishable lunch

• Small afternoon snack is provided

• Campers MUST wear shirt on Field Trip days

• Guardians must download the Band App and join our communication group

• Full Refunds will only be granted if the program is cancelled by the center.

• 20% administrative fee applies to all refund requests.

• Refunds requested week of camp will not be granted.

• Programs and Classes are subject to change or cancel without prior notice. (We don't forsee that happening though)

  
  

  Camp Rules & Guidelines

  The Following rules are meant to be discussed and understood by both parents and participants.

• Participants are expected to participate in all activities and follow directions at all times safety ratios of 1 staff per 10 children

  • This is a dance and art focused camp, participants should be here to participate in dance and art activities.

• Sandals or open-toed shoes should not be worn (can be brought for field trips)

• All participants should wear shorts or pants (no skirts or dresses, *not even over the top of shorts, we want all students and teachers to feel comfortable with appropriate clothing)

• All participants must show respect for themselves, other participants, and program staff.

• Participants must stay with buddy during field trips and outings

• Children must not harm anyone, no fighting, pushing, shoving, and no profanity

• Participants are expected to handle The Cypher Spot property and supplies appropriately

• Repeated reminders of inappropriate behavior, violent behaviors, bullying, discrimination, or behavior that creates a safety concern will result in removal from the program without refund.

• Student drop of and pick up is through the front door only (The back gate will be locked)
